Introduction

The Department of Chemistry at S. K. Porwal College, Kamptee, is a distinguished center for higher education and research dedicated to academic excellence, scientific innovation, and societal development. Since its establishment, the department has been committed to imparting quality education through a balanced integration of theoretical concepts, practical training, and research-oriented learning.

πŸ“œ History and Growth

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1971 with the commencement of undergraduate programmes, laying a strong foundation for quality Chemistry education. In 2003, the department expanded its academic scope with the introduction of the M.Sc. Chemistry programme under the visionary leadership of Dr. M. N. Ghoshal and Dr. S. S. Dhondge. A significant milestone was achieved in 2012, when the department was recognized as a Centre for Higher Learning and Research in Chemistry by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur, under the headship of Dr. S. S. Dhondge. Since then, the department has evolved into a vibrant centre of academic excellence and innovative research, producing highly competent graduates, doctoral scholars, and researchers who contribute significantly to academia, industry, and society. At present, the department continues its pursuit of excellence under the dynamic leadership of Dr. R. G. Chaudhary, Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry.
