S. K. Porwal College, Kamptee was established in 1965 by our founder President, Late Seth Nemkumarji Porwal in the memory of his father, Late Seth Kesarimal Porwal. That time there was no other college in and around Kamptee town. The college has made a humble beginning with small number of students in Arts and Commerce faculties. Now it boasts of having three faculties Arts, Commerce and Science with post graduate courses in few subjects. Our college is one of the few colleges to start Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry , Electronics and Computer Science among the few colleges in Kamptee. Our college is one of the few colleges to start B.Sc. in Information Technology (new title is introduced as B. Sc. in Information Technology). Our college also has introduced Computer Science with subject combinations and has separate buildings. The college has highly qualified teaching staff with 23 Ph. D. holders. Not only them but our 16 teachers are Ph. D. guides. Our college has been recognized as a research center for higher learning and many students completed M. Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. The college has been continuously organizing national and international level conferences/workshops and seminars in various subjects.
