INTRODUCTION

Department of Computer Science and IT focuses on the development of software Skill and testing software system as per vision, mission and objectives of department. It involves studying algorithm, Data structure, operating system, programming languages and database system. Department is well known for producing remarkable alumni placed at National and International IT industries with successful careers in the field of Computer Science and IT. The curriculum is a blend of the convention and the radical. It is updated regularly as per University guidelines to keep up with the growing demands and changing trends of the computer science professional and IT Industry. Department frequently organize seminar, guest lectures and talk by eminent IT professional, expert, academicians and renowned alumni. The department empower the student in all aspects like Co-Curriculum activities, Extra Curriculum activities and sport by conducting various events through college. The department running successfully with considering student and parent feedback and giving satisfactory result which comparable with university result.

HISTORY

The department of COMPUTER SCIENCE was established in our college in the year 1987, under the supervision of Professor S.W.Sawarkar, Head,Department of the Physics. In 1989 Professor Dr. VinayChavan appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department and took command as a Headship. In the same year Mr. S.J.Sadatkar joined the Department as a Lab Attendant. In the year 1994, Mr.RishikeshTokekar joined as a Laboratory Assistant and then he left this institute in 2006, for achieving better position in IT industry. Mr.PrafullaDhanvijay joined the Department as a Laboratory Assistant in 2004. Dr. DipakBhavsagar, joined as an Assistant Professor in July 2009. Dr. KishorDhole, joined as an Assistant Professor in the year December 2013. In the year 2020, Dr.Sabah Naseem, appointed as an Assistant Professor for B.Sc. (IT) as an Adhoc basis. By the year 2021, Mrs.ShamaAnjum, appointed as an Assistant Professor for M.Sc. (IT) course as an Adhoc basis. Presently Professor Dr.VinayChavan appointed as a Principalof our college in December 2022 and then he handover the charge of headship to Dr.DipakBhavasagar on 9th August 2023.
